How to motivate employees to engage in online knowledge sharing? Differences between posters and lurkers

Purpose This study aims to combine the theory of planned behave or (TPB) and motivational framework extend research on online knowledge sharing (OKS) in an organization by exploring factors that drive intentions (KSI) posters lurkers. Design/methodology/approach A field survey with 501 employees Vietnamese telecommunication companies is used collect data a structural equation modeling approach AMOS 25.0 test all hypotheses. Findings Attitudes toward OKS subjective norms influence KSI for both Self-enjoyment has stronger effect attitudes than Self-efficacy, reciprocity rewards only affect not Research limitations/implications uses self-efficacy self-enjoyment represent intrinsic motivation extrinsic motivation. Future may use additional provide insights. Practical implications Managers should pay greater attention motivate share each other improve organizational performance.
